Qld Championship?

Some of us SEQ racers were wondering if you guys would be interested in a 2 round championship?
We come visit you one round and you come down and visit us for another?
Last year it was awesome to have you guys on track with us. Just gauging interest at this time.

Unfortunatley I wasn't able to make the Warwick round last year, but the guys that did go had a blast and are definitely keen to get down there again.  Our calendar is still being finalised for this year so stay tuned!  It'd be great to see some of you make the trek north as well to make it a proper Qld Championship.

I just spoke to the boss type people, seems there is already communicaiton between clubs about this - should be run the same rounds at the supermoto guys.

There are at least 4 of us 250 riders that are super keen to come up. Here is hoping the dates are good.

We are actually hoping to have a 3 round championship, with one round in Townsville on Saturday the 5th of Sept (racing for part of the meet at night under lights!) and then the second round on Sunday the 13th at Mareeba (I'm happy to billet and feed at least a couple of people who make the trip north and could probably organise accom for others). So that would require a weeks holiday in FNQ.

The third round would be the Qld champs in Warwick in October.

It's looking exciting except one thing.. 5th September clashes with the Australian Historic Road Race Championships, which I shall be riding. We were thinking to come up for the 6/7th June race in townsville -as shown here http://www.townsvillemcc.net/2006_road_race_calendar.htm

I could be the only one put off by having a ride in the Historics so I'll have to see what the others think about the september date. I have asked Gary from Townsville if the dates are concrete.
We have some Qld Championship rounds ear marked on the sportsmens calendar http://www.motorcyclesportsmen.com.au/calendar-2009.html so I want to find out what is what and when the 250cc 4t championship fits in this.

I'll try and post here when I know more. otherwise we will be talking on the motorcycle sportsmen's forum.

The powers that be have spoken and there will only be 2 rounds of the Qld champs for 250s this year, Warwick and Townsville. Won't say anymore.
